The Indie Band Showcase is designed to highlight and promote, primarily local Connecticut based bands. However, we are certainly not limited to Connecticut bands exclusively. As the new music industry is well upon us, the truest fact evolves that it is up to the independent bands and musicians to become self sustaining, branded business entities.
Gone are the days that a band should believe that they can make a demo recording, send it out to independent or major record labels and they get a contract “just because they’re good”. Sad but the sobering truth is that in this day and age. A label worth any salt to bring a band to a national level of promotion, touring and distribution will first and foremost look for the following criteria BEFORE even considering a band to be on their label.
- How big is the bands fanbase?
- How much territory does the band currently cover?
- How often do they play locally, regionally and / or nationally?
- Have they recorded and produced their own cd yet?
- How many cd’s have they sold on their own?
- Has the band branded and merchandised themselves?
These are just a few primary questions and qualities a record label is going to ask. There are more questions they’ll be looking to have answered depending on the label.
Indie Band Showcase has been developed to highlight the local talent in the Connecticut region. Our goal is to establish primary venues throughout the state to hold events on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis.
The founders of Indie Band Showcase are veteran musicians of over 20 years and have also worked in multiple facets of the music industry. So, we’ve got a very well rounded skill set that we are passionate about sharing with not only musicians. But also, establishing a great repertoire with avid fans of music insuring that they know, The Indie Band Showcase will always be a great source of quality entertainment.
Ultimately, it is our goal to create a win – win – win – win situation for all parties involved. Among all those parties are: The bands/musicians, the venue owners, the general public and us, the producers of these showcases. It is in everybody’s best interest to look at this project as a long term, professional yet proactive outlet to build upon. In turn, perhaps we can put the state of Connecticut and far beyond, on the map in regards to being a great resource for musical talent which can ultimately become recognized on a regional and national basis.

David and Matt from “The Vision Studio team was an absolute pleasure to work with. Their professionalism with both the club and musicians made the multi-band event go smooth and run ahead of schedule. Band change over went without a hitch and everyone was amazed at how fast the next act was ready to go. It was my first time working with the Vision team and could have not asked for a better result. It was obvious after this event that their experience and knowledge is second to none.” Scott |
